Actually hosting companies like Bluehost, SiteGround keep the site backups on the server. However, maybe you need to pay for their service which provides a backup tool.
Instead of paying fees for hosting provider, it is better to use free service like Dropbox to store your WordPress backup. Of course, your backup should not exceed beyond 2GB. If your backup is more than 2GB, then you can consider only database backup to store.

Keeping backup process automatic saves us a lot of time. We can utilize Dropbox free space for storing our backup. And Of course, we don’t want to do it manually. It takes a lot of time to create a backup, download it and then upload it to Dropbox.

UpdraftPlus is a must have WordPress backup plugin for each website. This plugin allows us to store backup on our own server or on cloud servers like Dropbox, AWS, Google Cloud, Google Drive and much more.
Updraftplus uploads backup for free on Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. Not all of the cloud servers are available with a free plugin. To use those cloud storage, we need to use add-on provided by UpdraftPlus.

How To Store WordPress Backup On Dropbox
You first need to install and activate the UpdraftPlus plugin on your WordPress website. Once activated, visit the plugin page Settings->UpdraftPlus Backups.
Click on the Settings tab, select the Dropbox and save the changes.
Next, you need to authenticate with Dropbox. Once authenticated, Updraftplus will upload the backup to Dropbox using the Dropbox API. For this, click on a link next to the label ‘Authenticate with Dropbox’ under the Settings tab. It will redirect to your Dropbox account where you need to allow access for this application.
You can schedule the backup automatically and also set the number of backups to store.
Select the schedule from the drop-down and enter the number of backups in the field as shown in the above screenshot.
This is the process for Dropbox. Same process you can apply to store backup on Amazon S3, Google Cloud, Rackspace, etc.
